Strong, smooth and built to last

UPVC (unplasticised PVC) is a rigid, lightweight thermoplastic used across India for cold-water supply, irrigation and utility lines. It does not rust, rot or corrode, and its smooth bore keeps friction low so water flows freely for the life of the pipe. CANTER UPVC pipes and fittings are manufactured by Suvega Innovations at Pipalkhiriya, Raisen, close to Bhopal.

Sizes & pressure classes

Pick the pipe by size and working pressure

UPVC pressure pipe is sold by outside diameter and by pressure class. The higher the class, the thicker the wall and the higher the pressure the pipe can carry at 27°C.

20 - 63 mm

Service lines, plumbing mains, borewell and pump-set connections.

75 - 110 mm

Building risers, farm and irrigation mains, plant distribution.

140 - 200 mm

Large water-supply mains, bulk irrigation and industrial cold-water lines.

Colour & marking

Light grey, the UPVC pressure-pipe colour

Light grey is the colour buyers across India expect from UPVC pressure and agricultural pipe, so CANTER UPVC pipes and fittings are made in light grey. It separates them at a glance from tan CPVC hot-water pipes and darker-grey SWR drainage pipes on a site where several systems run together.

Every CANTER pipe is printed with the brand, size, class and batch marking along its length.

Fittings & valves

Matching fittings for the whole line

Light-grey fittings made to suit the pipe, so sockets seat fully and solvent-cement joints stay tight.

CANTER UPVC fittings: elbows, tees, couplers, end cap and ball valve

Elbows & bends

90° and 45° elbows for changes of direction.

Tees & crosses

Equal and reducing tees for branch lines.

Couplers & unions

Straight couplers to extend runs; unions for servicing.

Reducers & end caps

Change size or close the end of a line.

Threaded adaptors

Male and female adaptors for taps, pumps and metal pipe.

Ball valves

Shut-off valves for isolating branches.

Why choose CANTER UPVC

  • Virgin PVC resin, no scrap - made from high-quality virgin PVC resin; no scrap, regrind or recycled material is used.
  • Corrosion-free - no rust, pitting or scaling; suited to a wide range of soils and water chemistries.
  • Wide size range - 20 mm to 200 mm, so service lines and big mains come from one supplier.
  • Pressure classes for every job - from 2.5 to 10 kgf/cm², so you pay for the wall thickness you actually need.
  • Smooth bore - low friction for efficient flow and lower pumping effort.
  • Lightweight - easy to transport, cut and install, even on long runs.
  • Chemical resistance - stands up to most acids, alkalis and salts, for industrial and agricultural duty.

Where UPVC pipes are used

  • Cold potable water supply to buildings, colonies and plots
  • Agriculture - irrigation mains, sprinkler and drip headers, farm lines
  • Borewell and submersible-pump columns
  • Water treatment, swimming-pool and utility cold-water lines
  • Industrial process lines for cold water and mild chemicals
Need hot water? UPVC is meant for cold water. For hot-and-cold plumbing, use our CPVC pipes and fittings. For gravity drainage use SWR pipes.

Choosing the right class

  • Class 1-2 (2.5-4 kgf/cm²) - low-pressure gravity-fed and pumped lines in larger sizes.
  • Class 3 (6 kgf/cm²) - the usual choice for farm mains and building supply.
  • Class 4-5 (8-10 kgf/cm²) - higher-pressure pumped lines, risers and long runs with surge.

Not sure? Send us your flow, length and pump head and we will suggest a size and class.

Installation tips

  1. Cut the pipe square, then remove burrs and chamfer the spigot end.
  2. Dry-fit and mark the depth of the socket on the pipe.
  3. Apply solvent cement suited to UPVC to the pipe end and socket, push home with a quarter-turn and hold for a few seconds.
  4. Allow the joint to cure for the time stated by the cement maker before pressure testing.
  5. Support and bury the line on a smooth bed free of stones; protect exposed lines from long sun exposure.

FAQ

UPVC pipes - common questions

What are UPVC pipes used for?

Mainly cold-water supply, irrigation and agricultural lines, borewell columns and general-purpose pressure piping in buildings and industry.

What sizes of UPVC pipe do you make?

From 20 mm up to 200 mm outside diameter, in pressure classes from 2.5 to 10 kgf/cm². Small sizes are made in higher classes and large sizes in the full class range - see the table above. Tell us what you need and we will confirm availability.

Why are UPVC pressure pipes grey?

Light grey is the colour Indian buyers expect for UPVC pressure and agricultural pipe. It also makes the pipe easy to tell apart from tan CPVC hot-water pipe and darker-grey SWR drainage pipe on site.

What do the pressure classes mean?

The class is the working pressure the pipe is designed for at 27°C: Class 1 is 2.5, Class 2 is 4, Class 3 is 6, Class 4 is 8 and Class 5 is 10 kgf/cm². A higher class has a thicker wall for the same outside diameter.

Are UPVC pipes suitable for hot water?

No. UPVC is intended for cold water. For hot-and-cold water plumbing use CPVC pipes.

How are UPVC pipes joined?

With solvent cement and matching fittings. For connections to taps, pumps and metal pipes, threaded adaptors are used.

What is the difference between UPVC and SWR pipes?

UPVC pressure pipes carry water under pressure and are sold by pressure class. SWR pipes are thin-walled drainage pipes for gravity flow of soil, waste and rainwater. They are not interchangeable.

Can I buy UPVC pipes in bulk or become a dealer?

Yes. We supply dealers, distributors and contractors. Use the enquiry form to tell us your location and expected quantity.
